ABOUT

Lauren Fondren is a writer, director and producer based in Houston, TX (with a lingering toehold in NYC). She is interested in films that expand on and explode out of reality with female/femme protagonists who don't smile much.

 

Lauren is a 2022 NYSC/NYFA Artist Fellow in Screenwriting and an alumna of Columbia's MFA program in film (writing & directing). Her experimental narrative short You Left Me Alone won the Short Stories prize for best short film at the Washington D.C. International Film Festival in 2023. Her previous lives have included theatre, foreign language, and the State Department.
